Hello,
There is a new release of Sylk client with text messaging support between end-points.
The following standards are implemented:
RFC 3428 On Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Extension for Instant Messaging
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc3428
RFC7572 Interworking between the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP): Instant Messaging
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7572
RFC 3862 on Common Presence and Instant Messaging (CPIM): Message Format
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc3862
RFC 5438 on Instant Message Disposition Notification (IMDN)
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5438
Interoperability
Text messaging is interoperable with Web, SIP and XMPP clients. We have currently tested the following clients that implement that same feature set:
* Web browsers at https://webrtc.sipthor.net/
* Blink beta for Mac from http://icanblink.com/download/
* sip-session and sip-message command line tools from https://sipsimpleclient.org/testing/
You should be able to use any SIP client with CPIM support or XMPP client from any foreign domain to chat with Sylk clients @sip2sip.info domain to other domains hosted by SIPThor Net. IMDN notifications are negotiated and optional. For XMPP your server must support TLS and locate SIP2SIP XMPP S2S component using DNS:
https://xmpp.org/extensions/attic/xep-0368-0.1.html
To install or update Sylk Desktop client on your computer go to:
