[Blink] Blink and + country codes

I have a client running Blink Lite on a MAC
They use Gmail in the browser and thunderbird. The contacts end up in Blink from the mac contacts which has a live sync with Gmail.
The contacts primary numbers have a + in the number for the country code

I read some previous posts that state that the Pro version can overcome this. Is this the case or is it something that needs to be configured with the hosted PBX provider?
