</div>If you are working on 2.2.1 you can get yourself a tar file and host it along with your code, for example. Moreover, the API for defining applications was changed in 2.3, so I encourage you to update your code (it's not a big change) because it's not backwards compatible.<br>

I'm sorry is this not exactly how you like it, but we have been doing this for all of our projects for years and it has worked just fine so I see no compelling reason to change that right now.<br>
