Adrian,

Just to be technically correct, the term "Ultra-wideband" has no
application in audio.

Wideband is widely understood to be related to the 7 KHz audio channel
related to G.722, the earliest widely used wideband codec.

Some have used the term "Super-Wideband" to indicate the capabilities of
codecs like G.722.1C & SILK. That is, usable audio channel of up to 14
KHz.

There seems little point in terminology differentiating between an upper
limit of 14 KHz and 16 KHz.

Anything that passes 20Hz-20KHz should be considered full-bandwidth, aka
full-band. The G.719 codec created by Polycom & Ericsson is described as
full-band.

The problem is that there is a technology officially known as
Ultra-Wideband that relates to high-data-rate, low power RF
transmission.
