[Blink] Modification?

The only thing that happens when you press the recording button is that the audio stream is also written to disk. As nobody has seen the behavior you describe before, I can only speculate that the computer your are using has some hardware problem related to writing to the disk.

This baffles me as the recording function does not known anything about any headset you are using, it records the RTP stream that goes over the network, not the audio device. What do you mean by 'unable to record' ? Empty wav file? The button does not work? I wasn't clear again- my router/wireless phone is not designed to record. The point I was trying to make was my only option for recording that line is the softphone, that's why I purchased it and that's why recording is what interests me most.

This way we may be able to narrow the search for a cause. My SIP is Broadvoice. I've set up a SIP account, but haven't used the SIP often (I'm not really sure how to make SIP calls or find people I know with SIP lines/services). Broadvoice does limit config possibilities for customers- not sure what their limits are, though. Thanks for your help, Adrian! Lee

It wasn't until I changed to Google Voice that they said the quality had improved. Further, I also have this VOIP line set up with a router in addition to Blink. When using that with my wireless headsets, call quality is high, but I'm unable to record.

Also, I was almost totally unintelligible at times, with dropouts. Instead of an uneducated description, I'm attaching a snippet, titled "example.wav". Bear in mind, this occurred on both high speed networks I use.

Bad audio quality is typically caused by be caused by packet loss. You can see for each audio call the round trip time, packet loss and jitter buffer in the Session Info panel.
